I was merely a kid when the people power happened. Not of age to fully comprehend what was happening then. I learned about your leadership and achievements through history books, magazines and of course the television and yet I and millions of other Filipinos, young or old, rich or poor feel a great sense of loss and sadness. Thank you for leading us to the freedom and democracy we now have. Thank you for giving us hope and teaching us how to have faith. Thank you for being selfless and for making us proud to be a Filipino. Thank you, President Cory Aquino for being a great mother to our country!

My deepest condolences to the Aquino family. I'm deeply saddened by Pres. Aquinos passing.While in the Philippines, I remember my first voting experience,and it's because of her I decide that my vote will make a difference on her Presidential run.I was 21 yrs. old.My daughter also was named after Kris Aquino when she was born.I am in Texas now and I heard on the Primetime News that she past away while I'm at work.I know first that she died before my family in the Philippines.I called home at 3:30 am Philippine time.I will remember her by her charisma and her smile.She is one of a kind. I hope that women today especially in the Philippines,particularly young women, will make her a true example on fighting for womens rights, and serve as a true inpiration for all, by her determination, courage,a will to make a difference in everyones lives, her faith is never been questioned, and a true hero.I been in America for 20 years.I was in the Philippines when Revolution broke and I was so worried about our country at the time butI have never doubted the will power of the people.When I get here in America, I watch the HBO special about the Philippines and still have the movie I kept through all this years. She truly made me proud of her achievements.Pres. Cory, Thank you for being our President and for your love to us.You will be missed, especially by your family. Like President Cory, I take pride in being a Filipino and with her demise, I have realised that I should even be prouder in being a Filipino woman. I take inspiration from her work, deeds and her love for family.
